RAC (Run Around batteries)

Two or more coils enable heat to be transferred, so that heat can be recovered between the fresh air and the exhaust air by means of the circulation pump and control system. This is a sensible heat exchanger. There is only heat transfer between the two air streams, but no moisture transfer. Fresh air and exhaust air can be far apart. The two air streams are not mixed together and there are no moving parts. These are just some of the typical properties of this heat exchanger.

Values such as heat recovery temperature efficiency, air and water pressure drop, air and recirculation liquid flow rate, and the risk of freezing condensed water in winter are calculated in-house using specially developed software. The fin geometries can be designed according to the number of rows required, in staggered or in-line form. The coil can be up to 12 m long and 3 m high. Our heating and cooling coils are certified by EUROVENT.

In winter, the humidity in the air condenses on the fins of the coils. To avoid loss of energy efficiency, the water in the condensate must not freeze. Glycol must be used to prevent freezing in the circulation system.

Mechanical properties:

The fins are made of aluminium as standard. On request, marine alloy aluminium, industrial epoxy or hydrophilic pre-coating can also be used for the fins. The tubes are made of copper. Tinned copper or tinned aluminium tubes can be used on request. The frame can be made of galvanised steel, aluminium alloy, stainless steel or other special materials. Heat exchangers can be completely painted. Inlet and outlet tubes can be threaded or flanged.
